The grove consists of this parking area, a picnic area with tables and benches under the shade of tall trees and then a trail (being constructed as I type these words) leading down to a fresh water pond fed by Princess Run.

I am sorry to say, there has been controversy over the park. While Jackie's desire has always been for the 77 acres to be a quiet area where nature is permitted to survive as a town grows up around it, some folks had other ideas.

Money was available from the state and that enticed some folks in leadership roles to draw up extensive plans for ballfields and a large parking lot.  This was never Jackie's vision and frankly the Town doesn't need another ballfield.  Fortunately, the plan was finally "thrown out" - but sadly it created some bad feelings that will continue for awhile.

I hope you will enjoy the park in the manner that it was envisioned - a place to preserve and enjoy nature.  Hopefully, you will add the Grove to your list of places to visit again in the future for a peaceful commune with nature.
