#7 - The Lodge

lodge.jpg

A key part of the plan of the Millionaires was to create a resort here in Kunkletown.  While their execution might have been poor, their idea was proven to work, just not in Kunkletown, but a bit further north where we now have major hotels, water parks and casinos.

The only part of the plan that was fulfilled was the construction of the Chestnut Ridge Lodge (hotel).  There was a beautifully landscaped area in front of the 35-room lodge's luxury apartments.  The Lodge overlooked the brick factory and was meant to host corporation executives when they were in town.  A working brick factory, in such close proximity, might not have been the wisest decision, considering the noise and pollution.

All of this is now gone.  The site of the Chestnut Ridge Lodge now has a defoliated patch where the foundation once was.

Back to your car - Continue east on White Church Lane, make a left onto Fiddletown Road at the stop sign (.5m), shortly you will pull into the Mock Park parking lot (.7m) on your right.
