#43 - County Waste

Until fairly recently, household trash and recycling were handled on a family by family level.  Many folks had a burning pail for their trash and many had a metal pit - to drop metal and wait for it to rust away.  Glass jars were often recycled (repurposed) for home use.

The increase in plastics has created an environmental nightmare.  Eldred residents are asked to hire a sanitation company to pick up their trash and their recycling (separately).  We have two choices in Eldred - County Waste or Waste Management.  Some townships, like Chestnuthill and Polk have drop off locations for townspeople.  We don't have that, but do have a free electronics drop-off option.
