#18 - The Fields Movie Site
From a newspaper account:
"Driving down a winding road in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania, the car rounds a turn, climbing higher into the mountains. Perched on the side of a steep hill is an old farmhouse with peeling gray paint and gaping windows, surrounded by fields of dry and rustling corn. The front lawn slopes dangerously down and then sprawls out into an honest-to-god pumpkin patch. This is where the cast and crew for upcoming indie thriller The Fields are shooting today. When we arrive, they are filming a scene in the pumpkin patch with Bev Appleton and Joshua Ormond. It’s October, and in the mountains of Pennsylvania the air is beyond chilly."
Sadly, despite a superstar like Cloris Leachman and "hottie" Tara Reid in the cast, the movie ended up a direct to DVD flop.
A personal story. One night I was returning home well after midnight along Church Road (exactly where you stopped between the fields). A herd of deer filled the road and instead of running away as I approached they stayed put. I said to myself "Whatever they are afraid of in those fields must be much scarier than me and my car." And so I proceeded with extreme caution. As I approached the stop sign I saw an eerie sight - what looked like several flying saucers hovering over the farm in the hollow. I quickly realized they were "stadium" lights on tall cherry pickers. They were filming the Fields - which until that moment I wasn't aware of.
Continue on Keystone Lane and at the stop sign (6.8m) make a right onto Fiddletown Road, as you drive you will notice a pond and a farm on your right (6.9m) continue until you see Borger Road (7.2m) on your right, make the right onto Borger Road and eventually make a left onto Wes Flo Court (7.5m) and continue to the Cul de Sac.
