#39 - Chestnut Ridge Caboose & Grist Mill Stone

Further west, past the Veteran's Memorial Plaza are two "relics" from the Town's past.
First, a large red caboose that served on the Chestnut Ridge Railway and second a mill stone.

The caboose was donated to the Town in 2006 and immediately put on display.

Shortly after, the millstone was donated by Jacqueline Mock.

The caboose was sandblasted and repainted this year (2019) and the mill stone will soon have a plaque identifying it as having come from the grist mill on Princess Run, along Fiddletown Road.
Make a left out of the parking lot and continue along Kunkletown Road, at some point along this route, on your right, you will notice a “Bike Trail” sign (just lock this away in your memory for now) continue to the intersection of Silver Spring Blvd (18.8m). Make a right onto Silver Spring Blvd, you will notice another Bike Trail sign. In just a minute, you will see a clump of trees on your left. If there is no traffic, you may be able to pause and stare into those woods and you will see the derelict frame of a once vibrant one-room school. There is no parking available here.
